Bachelor - Graduation Project
For my thesis I had the privilege to move to Billund for 4 months to work for The LEGO Group.
During this time, I was part of the LEGO Duplo team and helped with the development and exploration of new elements.

Due to an NDA agreement during this internship, specific project details cannot be shared; however, a brief overview of the thesis can be provided.


Research and Ideation

My process began with extensive research into current trends influencing children and caregivers' purchasing behaviors. Competitor analysis guided opportunities for LEGO Duplo to innovate. I generated multiple sketches aligning with LEGO Duplo's design principles, safety standards, and focus on exceptional play experiences.



Concept Development

Following initial ideation, I refined two concepts emphasizing safety and ergonomic design for children aged 1.5 and up. Utilizing Rhino 3D modeling software, I crafted prototypes to ensure proportionate and engaging interactions with figures.



Finalization and Presentation

A concept was chosen and rigorously assessed for technical feasibility and design coherence through collaboration with engineers and product safety teams. This process culminated in a comprehensive final report. I presented the project to my team and The Hague University's graduation committee, achieving an outstanding grade of 8 for my studies
